Spotlight: The Safiyah Dress

The Safiyah dress is many things. The main aspect of 'African Beauty' that comes to mind when I see it is the core that tends to hold people of the Diaspora together through whatever. It means so many things to me, and I put alot of thought and love into designing this dress. Its my personal favorite and named after one of the most beautiful people in my life. I couldnt even begin to explain what I felt the first time I saw it completed, I hope to share a little bit of that with anyone who owns a Safiyah dress in the future.

Spotlight: The Safia Dress

Like its inspiration, it's whimsical, beautiful, and pleasing to the eye XP. I wanted to create pieces that showed all aspects of 'African Beauty'. As broad as the term is, there are some very specific aspects to it. There is a charm you'll find anywhere you go in the motherland, something that tends to connect all of us [when we're not fighting of course]. The same charm you'll find creating a twinkle in the eye of anyone whos experienced it. Its hard to capture on news stations, and magazine pages, but its there and if it were a dress I would imagine it would look something like this.
